PARENT CLUB

Your children are already learning lots at home but spending time in childcare can really boost their learning and social development. Your 2, 3 or 4 year old child could benefit from 1140 hours per year of Early Learning and Childcare (ELC). This is free to you, funded by the Scottish Government and local authorities.

CURRICULUM FOR EXCELLENCE

This is Scotland’s curriculum for children and young people aged 3-18.

Hoodles Childcare will follow the national guidance set out in this document. It’s an approach designed to provide young people with the knowledge, skills and attributes they need for learning, life and work in the 21st century.

It aims to enable every child or young person to be: Confident Individuals, Successful Learners, Responsible Citizens and Effective Contributors.

GETTING IT RIGHT FOR THE CHILD (GIRFEC)

Is the Scottish Governments approach to improving the services that support children and young people. The approach underpins the recent Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014.

REALISING THE AMBITION - BEING ME (SCOT GOV 2020)

Hoodles Childcare uses the National Practice Guidance on Early Learning and Childcare: Realising the Ambition – Being Me (2020) to guide and support us in providing a seamless journey from birth to starting school. 

INFECTION PREVENTION & CONTROL IN CHILDCARE SETTINGS (Daycare and Childminding Settings)

At Hoodles Childcare, we use this guidance for the prevention infection.  It also gives the recommended nursery exclusion periods if your child is unwell with an infectious illness.

SETTING THE TABLE

By NHS Health Scotland is a guidance publication which aims to provide childcare providers standards for food provision within early years childcare provision. The aim is to ensure that children aged 0 – 5 years, in childcare settings across Scotland are offered meals, snacks and drinks that meet their nutritional requirements and are conducive to good health.
